About the Founder
e-TRANS corporation was founded on December 1, 2003 by Takahiko Osuga.
For over 12 years, he had been in charge of translation, localization and
marketing at two companies that import healthcare and rehabilitation products,
wheelchairs, and computer access products from the United States, Canada and Europe.
During his tenure at these two companies, he has had years of experience
translating many manuals, brochures, and technical notes for home healthcare
and rehabilitation products, augmentative communication devices for people
with speech disabilities, computer access hardware and software for people
with speech and/or physical disabilities and manual/power wheelchairs,
including low temperature thermoplastics for medical applications, and
prostheses and orthoses.
In addition to translation for documentation, from 1993 to 1998 he held
148 workshops all over the country as a “splint demonstrator”, making splints
using low temperature thermoplastics for medical applications. Many occupational
therapists, physical therapists, orthopedists, teachers, and students took
part in his workshops. He also translated and published a splinting guide
under the supervision of a famous associate professor. Many medical schools
have adopted this book as a general guide for making splints.
He has decided to start his business as a localizer from this experience,
including his knowledge of the assistive and adaptive technology field
in Japan. He is always working to continue offering clients the highest
quality localization service, from Japanese translation to desktop publishing
for your product exports to Japan.
